In the highly competitive world of the F1 in Schools science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) challenge, designing an aerodynamically efficient car is a crucial factor when it comes down to winning races. Since every car uses the same specification canister as a power unit, all cars must have the same power deployed off the starting line. Teams must work to design a car that minimizes the force of drag, thereby allowing the car to have a higher top speed down the track. It is important for students to understand the force of drag and what features can be manipulated to achieve greater car performance.
